Overview
MediQo’s Dual Booking feature allows you to configure appointment types that require multiple practitioners, such as a doctor and nurse, to be present at different stages of the same appointment.
This ensures appointments are only booked when all required practitioners are available, helping you deliver more structured and coordinated care.
How it works
You can assign additional practitioners to an appointment type and define:
Who needs to attend
When they should join the appointment (before, during, or after)
How long they should be involved
This allows workflows such as:
A nurse completing an assessment before a consult
A second practitioner joining part-way through
Step-by-step setup
Navigate to Team Settings in MediQo
Select the practitioner you would like to configure appointments for
Choose the relevant appointment type (for example, Immunisations)
Select the matching appointment type in your PMS
Click “Include Nurse”
Select the additional practitioners who should attend
You can choose from doctors, nurses, or other practitionersConfigure when the additional practitioner should attend:
Choose before, during, or after the appointment
Set the start time offset
For example, entering 5 minutes means the practitioner joins 5 minutes before the appointmentSet the duration for how long they should be present
Click Save to apply your changes
What happens after setup
The appointment will only be available for booking if all required practitioners are available at the specified times
When booked, the appointment will appear as separate calendar entries for each practitioner involved
Your AI Receptionist will automatically follow these rules when booking appointments
